First song heard in Paris: Kanye West. Who would've thought...
First family little tiff. Bound to happen. No bigs.
First congestion of tourists. Which sadly led me to dislike a lot of really cool sights in Paris: the Eiffel Tour, the Louvre, Notre Dame Cathedral, among others. The Notre Dame was packed with people taking photos, talking, etc. while an actual service was going on. It took away from the experience, and the whole sacredness that a cathedral should have. However, we did light a candle for mom.
First learned Subway. So proud!
First time to beautiful Gardens of Versailles: drinking fresh squeezed orange juice, with their own oranges. Yum! Which led to one of my favorite quotes from the whole trip. After a bee continued to follow Emily with the delicious orange juice, Emily goes on to say "Insects in this country are very persistent." Maybe you had to be there.
& First encounter with the ever so worldly Paris restaurants:
So, I'm sorry this photo is very small, can't even see what you're looking at! Well, for those of you familiar with the great Columbia El Rancho, no worries it is in Versailles too!
Espesso, Caffe Latte? Pastries in the window? I think I see a pie? What are we looking at? Yes, yes it is McDonalds. What! And their BigMacs, what are they like? Oh it's on a croissant, no big deal.. normal.
